Designed to shape light within the space they define, Louis Poulsen creates an atmosphere that makes people feel good, both in-and outdoors. With indirect, soft and inviting lighting, each fixture is purposeful in it’s respective space with the right balance between function and comfort. Inspired to carry the soft luminescense of the Scandinavian summer into the dense darkness of the Scandinavian winter, their goal is to create the best possible ambience.

Leading Danish designer, architect, writer - Poul Henningsen, was born in Copenhagen. His professional interest soon turned towards lighting and the origin of how light is shaped can still be unearthed with his iconic signature three-shade system. Designed in 1925/1926, the three-shade system was invented due to the shift in light design used on and in the streets, homes and stores. Being one of the first few to recognise the importance of shaping light, Poul created the three-shade lamp series that emits a glare-free light that fully illuminates the space called the PH 5.
