Our journey began in 2010 with our first store in the basement of Park Mall, followed by a second location on the second floor just a year later. This early success set the stage for our ambitious growth.

By 2015 and 2016, we reached a significant milestone with the launch of Grafunkt’s first flagship store and mono-brand spaces. This expansion marked the start of our long-standing partnerships with renowned furniture brands like Conde House and Ligne Roset—collaborations that have thrived for over a decade.

In 2019, we expanded further with a store opening in Funan, allowing us to collaborate with more furniture designers to curate unique yet functional pieces that embodied our core values. As Grafunkt grew, we sought to let our brand flourish, explore new markets, and continuously refine our offerings to better serve our customers.

We continue to strive for this equilibrium, ensuring that we offer our customers quality furniture while making prudent choices to sustain and grow our business. This continued growth has led us to our latest milestone: the House of Grafunkt in Joo Chiat.

Grafunkt’s evolution has always been driven by a desire for growth and a commitment to authenticity. After 15 years of establishing our retail presence within shopping malls, we recognized the need for a space that truly reflected our brand’s independent spirit and sense of community. This desire for autonomy and a more personal connection with our customers marked a significant milestone. It led us to seek a location we could call our own – a place that resonated with our core values.

Our choice of 292 Joo Chiat Road was far from arbitrary. This building, a historical gem constructed in the 1950s and recognized as part of the 26th Architectural Heritage Awards and Special Mentions, has long held a special place in our hearts. Its architectural design, influenced by the late Art Deco style, exudes a timeless elegance that perfectly complements our curated collections. The building's rich history, having served as a hotel (Far East Hotel) and later a bank, adds layers of depth and character that are simply irreplaceable. It has unique architectural features that are a testament to the building's enduring charm. Some of these features include the arc walls on the second and third floors and the tulip shelter on the top floor.

The shift to Joo Chiat was more than just expansion but a reflection of our commitment to time-tested values, authenticity, and community.
