House of Finn Juhl

The Sideboard

Inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's color wheel, Finn Juhl's Sideboard from 1955 combines exclusive materials with vibrant hues. This design marks a shift in his philosophy, as he began incorporating new styles into his work after rising to prominence in American design circles, moving toward more straightforward, colorful designs. The sideboard is crafted with a veneered frame in teak, oak, walnut, or Oregon pine. Its sliding doors can be chosen in matching veneer or painted in white with either yellow or light blue. The frame comes in burnished steel or painted in black, orange, or light blue, while a tray unit can be added as an optional feature.
