Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa's distinctive minimal approach is put on display with the Kamuy series. His goal was to create pieces that would be "at home anywhere in the world", which came to fruition by combining Fukasawa's keen eye with the skill of Asahikawa's wood artisans. The armchair forms an A-shape when viewed from the side and the arms are widened in the middle for a comfortable elbow rest. Made in Hokkaido, Japan and comes in multiple wood finishes and seat fabrics.

Description
Its name comes from the word 'kamuy-mintara', which means 'garden of the gods' in the native language of the indigenous Ainu people in Japan. Designer Fukasawa went through numerous prototypes before perfecting the Kamuy's wide and deep seat. Though the design appears simple, everything has been calculated — from difference in thickness between the back and front legs to frame's casted shadow — to create a collection that shall age beautifully with time.
