1. Inland Sofa
Tripod lamp, Inland sofa, X lounge, Lato side table (left to right)
Oslo-based design studio Anderssen&Voll sought to pay homage to Norwegian design with its overarching shape while introducing plush cushioning typically associated with Italian furnishings. The low-form, deep seats and high arms promise supreme comfort. Often an overlooked detail, the steel-footed base bestows a contrasting sense of lightness. This sofa is available as a two- or three-seater, and comes in varied upholstery options, including leather, linen and wool.

2. AX Lounge Chair
Flowerpot VP10 Pendant, AX Lounge chair (left to right)
This is our pick when it comes to owning a piece of history. The AX lounge chair stands as an emblem for one of the very first times plywood was shaped in 3D. Peter Hvidt (1916–1986) and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen’s (1907–1993) monumental success in using laminated wood for this design in 1950 paved the way for it to be made in large quantities and exported internationally. The continuous curves and expert engineering have established its reputation as one of the most comfortable wooden chairs.

3. In-Between Table
Betty Chair, Formakami Pedant, In-Between table (left image)
Gothenburg-based designer Sami Kallio’s In Between marble dining table in Verde Guatamala stone is quiet and timeless yet never lacking in character and materiality. It bears a classical shape but feels contemporary in expression — a showcase of Kallio’s ability to balance between the past and present. Take your pick from three stone tabletop finishes, or opt for a down-home feel with oak or walnut.

4. Thorvald Armchair & Table
As its name suggests, Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou from Space Copenhagen took inspiration from the Thorvaldsens Museum when creating this eight-piece outdoor collection. The institution’s neoclassical sculptures, mosaic tiles and decorative ceilings set the tone for the furniture’s sculptural silhouettes and intuitive forms. Made for both rain and shine, the steel furniture is durable yet inviting, striking a balance that’s difficult to achieve.

5. Pavilion Chair & Table
What started out as a chair has evolved organically into a family of products. The Pavilion chair was designed by Anderssen&Voll as a stackable seat for the Langelinie Pavilion, a multi-purpose venue set in Copenhagen’s Kastellet. It has since spun into numerous armchair variants, where sinuous tubes tie multiple shells together in a vivid manner. Taking a different look is the Pavilion table, the designers’ way of fostering dialogue between the pieces. Such sublime simplicity means it’ll fit in a dining space or office meeting room equally well.
