Pascal Mourgue is not just a furniture designer, but also a prolific artist. He is committed to keeping by his artistic integrity above all else, including commercial success and publicity. His committment is a testament to the quality of his work and designs, which has brought him to embark on exciting projects with some of the world's most renowned brands like sailing boats for Cartier, crystal objects for Baccarat, architecture, painting and sculpture. He only began focusing on furniture design in the 1980s, and in 1994, established a long-standing partnership with Ligne Roset. His first design for the established furniture brand is the Calot, an unprecedented venture where he seeked to provide the same level of comfort in a sofa/chair as in a pillow. His creations have achieved numerous accolades. The Lover won the Red Dot best of the best awards for Ligne Roset, and more recently the Downtown has followed suit.
