Originating from Denmark, Hee Welling has been invested in furniture production and design since young with a father as a cabinetmaker. His curiosity and knowledge of production techniques shapes his ideals today, which is to produce simple designs in sophisticated methods, essentially creating a product that is catered to a wide audience. He is recognised by several awards, the Bo Bedre Award (Denmark), Good Design Award (USA) and has been nominated as the Danish designer of the year in both 2013 and 2014.
