Inspired by stems from a feather, drawn by hand, each design is organic and subtle. As with all nanimarquina rugs, the Quill Collection is handmade resulting in each piece being unique and different like nature itself.
Quill expresses the understanding of the beauty that lies in the modest, rustic and imperfect. What the Japanese refer to as wabi sabi, a philosophy that is apparent throughout Tamura’s work.
Available in three sizes and a pastel palette including: ivory, pale olive, and stone green, the Quill rugs are beautiful alone and can also be placed together to form inspiring combinations.
“Like Nature where no two shapes are alike, each Quill rug has its own expression like a living creature.” – Nao Tamura
Nao Tamura built her fundamentals in Tokyo and New York City creative communities. This has resulted in a designer who is consistently smart in her designs, keeping things fundamentally simple and clean whilst simultaneously able to bridge different cultures, languages, concepts and styles in her work. Her works are characterised by this innate balance between innovation and beauty, and are able to convey the emotional connection contemporary society and status-quo desires. She is celebrated by many prestigious awards including the IF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, Industrial Design Excellence Awards (Gold), Milano Salone Satellite Award (1st prize) and so on.
